FOREFRONT SET FOR CANADA

Why keep mine safety to ourselves when we can share them with the world?

Forefront Services has recently played a significant role in the future of Australia’s mine safety and in October, the team will launch their safety products to an international mining community.

Taking place in Vancouver, the fourth International Symposium on Block and Sublevel Caving is a platform for likeminded individuals and companies to share their expertise in various forms of mining.

The growing popularity of caving methods around the world is largely due to the very low production cost and the intrinsic safety associated with the mining approach. It is often the only viable mining method for some of the lower grade massive orebodies that are becoming too deep for open pit mining.

“Australian mines such as Cadia East and Northparkes have adopted these mining methods to great success,” said Forefront director Anthony Redfern.

“There’s now an increase in interest from international companies so we’re excited to be able to present the HEX-RITE in person to some of the international industry’s top mining experts.”

The HEX-RITE is an application tool for charging high explosives into stopes and drawpoints, removing personnel from the line of fire whilst safely, and efficiently, clearing oversize material hang-ups.

Anthony Redfern, Nick Clift and Ron Bell ready to take Forefront to Canada

With delegates from almost 100 different companies from 14 countries expected at the symposium, Forefront will have the opportunity to demonstrate the use of their safety products as a registered trade exhibitor. “This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Forefront’s secondary break application tools to a global market,” said Mr Redfern who will be joined by Forefront product and design manager Ron Bell and business development manager Nick Clift to demonstrate how innovative products used in local mines can be applied at other mine sites to improve both safety and productivity.

“There are many countries who already share Australia’s high standards of work safety but don’t have the resources to implement them. We hope the introduction of our products will encourage the mining industry world wide to adopt our safety measures and to support Australian innovations like ours.”
